Late-night knitting ...

... not for the faint of heart.

I tried to start my sweater last night. Ugh. I must have cast on the stitches 5 times. Thank you to Amy on KnittingHelp.com. Her video for the long-tail cast on is wonderful. I don't think I would be trying this challenging of a project had I not found her web site. It's just so nice to have someone sitting there showing you exactly what to do!

However, Amy couldn't help me read the darn instructions. The pattern says to cast on 78 stitches, but when you read the next sentence, which I swear I had already done once, it says to work the first 9 in Color A, 60 in the MC, and then 9 in Color A again. {sigh} So, after ending up with too short of a tail for my stitches a couple of times, and then realizing that I needed to cast on in different colors, and then finallly getting that done, I hosed up the Intarsia joins. So, I just ripped it all out and will start again later today.

Gee ... perhaps midnight is not the optimum time to start a new project.

More Yarn!

I'm so excited! I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics today to get some yarn to make this, this, and then I was going to go to the yarn store to get some wool to knit this, and LO AND BEHOLD, I found that my local Jo-Ann's now has WOOL!!! I was so excited. I got a skein (enough for the bag) for about $6. So, now I am hopefully going to be knitting like crazy for a while, and I'll actually be making something useful instead of just goofing around. Wish me luck!
